In light of the major hype about Lost coming back in five days, I decided to ask a couple of my friends why they liked (or disliked in a couple cases) Jate and then I thought, well, why not find out what the rest of my flist thinks about the subject

I'm more on the Jate side, but I can't say exactly why. It's just there, it's just what should happen, you know? They're just for each other. They know each other, they can understand things about each other even if they haven't talked about them. They have differences and similaries and can have a balanced relationship.

Jack and Kate don't need words to communicate. They do it just being near each other.

Okay first of all, your icon is like the most amazing creative icon i've ever seen..And i love you for this :)

Now, back on the subject. I am and have always been a Jater, since the beginning of the show. And i didn't ship them just because they were flirting like hell but because they shared so many things there..

It may look like Kate actually admires Jack but not loves him, but i think it wasn't like that all the time. And i love how they were talking alot, they were sharing their secrets. But for Skate part, there wasn't much talking, just mostly flirting and teasing.

Btw, i belive Jack and Kate understand each other in a way no one does.

I don't know, there ae so many reasons in my head and i belive it would take pages for me to write all down..But i see the chemistry, not just in physical way but in emotional way as well..

I hope i explained myself well..lol :D

Lol. Thanks. fuesch made it and I fell in love with it when I first saw it. If the man can redefine physics, then I'm sure he knows who belongs together. :D

You have to admit though, when Jack and Kate do flirt, it's the most squee worthy thing ever. None of it's bawdy or rude and there's no glaring or snapping at each other like with Skate. Jate flirting's all smiles and laughing and acting like they're still in high school.

The way I see it. While Jack does want to "fix" her, it's because he knows that she can do, be, and act better then she is. With him she grows and in turn, she helps him loosen up, have fun, and grow with her.

The trust thing is so important. You can like someone until the stars come crashing down but without trust, it's just a harmful relationship and won't get anyone anywhere except ten steps backwards.

Ah, the look. I loved that so much.

I'm not good when it comes to writing out why I'm a huge Jater..but hopefully this makes some sense lol

Sure, as a Jater any time we get jate moments we're all "ZOMFGJATESQUEE!!" which is true, but.. Jack and Kate have a special relationship that goes beyond "shipping" them together..yes I'm a huge Jater, but it goes further than that. They've had this special relationship/connection since day one that's unlike any other relationship on the show.

They're connection is much more/different than Kate/Sawyer's "buddy buddy sexual tension" relationship. Kate and Jack are better because of each other.
