Ok, so I dont pretend to be a know-it-all because God knows I can be way off sometimes.  But this situation I am about to tell u makes me a damn good-looking know-it-all:

I think it gets an extra e on the end if it refers to a female (because it's a French word really), so if it was refering to a guy then you were right and if it was to a girl then she was :) It's also supposed to have accute's on the first two "e"s but then that starts looking pretentious :)

Glad you're having fun with your internship :)

Hey, good to hear you have a nice internship! I want one of those! How did you get an intern with Norton?! Unfortunately my boss and I mutually decided that I suck at telemarketing so I resigned today.

Just so you know, if "protege" is spelled with two E's in the book, as long as your boss was directly quoting then it's right. In other words, if a word is spelled wrong in a published work and you need to quote that misspelled word it is not your responsibility to correct another publisher's error. So, it may seem stupid but you have to keep the misspelled word misspelled! Just from one English major to another ;).

oh no, sorry for the bad news about the telemarketing job. To make u feel better, I sent my resume to this job for a telephone fundraiser position. The guy in charge called me back and asked me if I had extensive knowledge about theater, sales, Shakespeare...I Was like, uh...sort of, but not really. I knew the phone interview was going downhill, and his tone said it too. He thanked me courteously for my interest in the job, and I dryly replied back, "Yeah, sure" and we hung up. Wasnt dying to get the job anyway. Ha.

Sucks u gotta keep a misspelled word because someone else screwed up. Very comical. Thanks for the tip, chica!

Oh, about the Norton internship. Well, one day, I stumbled across a website that had a ton of publishing companies on it and it gave me the great idea to search their websites out individually. The rest is history! Maybe u should do that too! The website is bookjobs.com. There, u will not only find profiles of hundreds of publishing companies, dear, but also other helpful info about publishing. Good luck!
