I see people who have left here and gone to Facebook, now writing as frequently on FB as they did when they were here. I can’t get my head around that. It’s not a place to write everything in my opinion. It’s so public and exposed. And the people there haven’t committed to you the way they do here.

Of course I've noticed that, too. But - one thing I've also noticed that their writing isn't as personal or heart felt. There IS a difference.

Facebook and Live Journal are like apples and oranges. They ARE different, and, for me, are used for different purposes. On Facebook I've reconnected with people I never thought I would hear from again. That is good. I keep in touch with family and RL friends who live in both places we live. That is also good. Facebook is a place to put photos, travel or concert experiences - fun and fluff stuff. That's good. But feelings and more in depth writing about those things? Nope. That's for here. Without those depth, the commitment really does wane.
