If you want to learn more about them, it's like anything else. The best way is practice and immersion.
The Pokedex is a really useful thing to have, but being diligent and spending time with your own Pokemon to learn their personal strengths, weaknesses, and quirks is equally helpful if you're going to battle with them.
Is that a feature on my PokeGear? [She was so concerned about reading on how to make messages private she kinda skipped the other sections in the Gear's manual.]
I guess I do have the time to get to know my Pokemon better. I'll try to watch Chrysanthemum closely next time we battle.
Exactly. The Pokedex is on your gear, so it might be worth looking at when you have time to play around with it a little. It records data on what Pokemon you encounter, and ones you already have.
But I think there's also no substitute for just spending time with your Pokemon, too, for strategic reasons at the very least.
[He's quiet for a beat, recognizing her -- Iris was one of the first people he became friends with, here, after all -- but thanks to experience, he knows she probably wouldn't remember him.]
... I've been here a while. I can answer a couple questions if you want. The name's Soul Eater. But it's cool if you just call me Soul.
I'm really concerned with my Cubone, actually. He seems to have a difficult time with most of the Pokemon around this area. Getting along with them and fighting against them.
I think it's important that he grows stronger, but I'm not certain where I can look for good training spots for him.

Well, I am sure my friends won't mind but I can ask them... would you like to join us? We will be arriving very soon.

I would certainly appreciate the help! Thank you for the offer! But do be sure to ask them. I would hate to inconvenience anyone.
I'm actually not in any big hurry. I have a lot to learn, and I'm sure Chrysanthemum [she pats her Cubone's skull] could use a rest.

Yes! He's not too fond of his name, but I think he might also be just shy.
[As if to prove her point, Chrysanthemum looks away from Lacus' smile.]

I'll keep that in mind. I want to become a stronger trainer, so that means doing everything I can to help that along. Thank you for your advice, Miss.
