no, no, whole world of *fun*...redstarrobotAugust 16 2003, 08:53:46 UTC
New York isle is covered by grey Concrete piles, blues play my way Tropic haze, pineapple sky Perfect wave, hurricane eye In the sun, it's for everyone In the sun, were gonna have some fun
I love blackouts. I always have. I'm a freak.
Glad you're okay! But, y'know, these wild, wacky adventures would be much more fun if, say, you took *me* along. :-)

Don't get me wrong. I tend to also enjoy blackouts. This one in particular was a bit much, mainly because it's the only blackout I've been through during which I've had to deal with a whole bunch of angry New Yorkers.
It would have been fun to have you here, though. But I do warn you, you would have had to put up with marriage proposals from a very desperate single Jewish lawyer. He spent the entire duration of the 3 hour "escape back to Brooklyn" either hitting on me, or telling every woman we passed how beautiful she was.
I think I like my blackouts anywhere except NYC. I remember the one in Cambridge very fondly. Kicking around Senior Haus... lighting candles and attempting to play drunken trivial pursuit. Ah, those were the days... :)

Yeah, marriage-minded lawyers are what the lesbian act is for. Well, one of the things it's for.

I think Tom was visiting me during that blackout... I vaguely recall being (about to be) late for work at Tosci's (unfortunately before they started giving away their ice cream), which was of course closed when I got back to campus, after walking through darkened streets, so candles and card games followed, and figuring out how much capacity Co-gen had, as various lights went to various levels through the night. That was a pretty good one, yeah.
But all those pictures of people sleeping on the Post Office steps... how fantastic! Camp-out in New York! :-)
