For my birthday I got a hot dog wrapped in a slice of whole wheat! I may get to go see 'Volver' this afternoon, if I can work out a ride to the theater. So, I may also get a healthy dose of prosthetic buttI guess the best thing to do is pump it up every day, no matter what. welcome to the world of birthdays that aren't exciting. when i turned 24, i realized i was in my mid-twenties and that was weird. anyway do lots of fun things!

Thanks for the well wishes Becca! I am at least kind of pleased that 22 is one of those "double" number ages, something I haven't experienced since 1995. 24 is a nice divisible number, so it's bound to be a good year. And then think--next year you can rent a car. Right now you're still a big ol' car-driving-but-not-renting baby!

Youtube comments say IT IS -- you've got an eye for the white men! It'd be pretty strange if he had nothing to do with the song at all and just appeared for those two seconds, hah.

I wonder what we'd be like if we hadn't listened to certain slices of 90s top 40 radio at influential ages. I feel like I'd be much less sleep-deprived.

Happy B-day, Mika! Also, whoa to the news that Kristy is now a... singer-songwriter?! I haven't seen the movie but I have read the novel adaptation of it, which did have a nice photo insert.

Fannio, go get a copy. I had read the books but, despite my deepest desires, never got to see the movie (much less the TV show) until probably a two months ago, thanks to the resources and willingness of friends. It was pretty cathartic. Especially the musical sequence Claudia uses as a device to memorize anatomy for summer school final exams. But then again I never read the novelization of the movie, so maybe I better look for that myself.

What!! What is the how and when and why?

It turns out I was imagining something way more cartoonish/gigantic than was actually used on Penelope Cruth, which still looked like only a slender backside. But I could see the outline of it through the skirt in one scene, and it looked like a rectangular prism.
