After finishing N.K. Jemisin's brilliant The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms-a fantasy book that was crazy gripping and told me stunning thing about the nature of parents and children and the unsettling nature of enslaved/oppressors, subservient/dominant personages-I'm wondering: we've reached a precarious acknowledgment of fantasy/scifi by the whole ( Read more... ) -

Miniscule update
I have two ideas for new stories: one's a reworking of an old story, another is throwing my wacky stuff into a traditional coming of age story. Also reading a good book that I had weird first reaction to; after the first few chapters I thought "it's like Shortbus as a fantasy novel?" -
Captain America is not a WB TV show...
I think I've read one Captain America comic in my life (from a pack of free comics I got at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown as a kid) wherein he and Falcon fought an evil shapeshifter that was turning into old Cap villains and his evil glider man partner (guy with a giant glider. that was apparently an eeeeeviiiiil glider...) but even so, ( Read more... ) -

Weirdly I've been contemplating my self-image lately. Nothing uber-serious, but at the same time, strengthening in my own self perception.
