haha... we have that silly audix (who knows how it's spelled) lady at my job too. drives me c-r-a-z-y that it takes a million steps to get to a message. i'm starting to memorize all the commands -- it saves at least 5 minutes each time.

HAHAAHA our work vmail is powered by Audix too. I've trained myself - everytime I see my vmail light I hit the vmail button, then *68564*1234*20 and my message plays within a couple of seconds total. At least they don't make you *wait* for a command to process before you can enter the next step, like some awful systems do.

Oh, I meant to also say that my fingers have learnt the key combo dance so I can check my vmail without even looking. S'not that hard.

What's really fun is trying to access Audix voicemail remotely. At least that was the case when I was with the Bank. I had to dial some random 800 number, and then type in some "customer code", and THEN go through the "enter your extension" and then "enter your password" and then "blah blah blah".

The system we have here now is much better. At least I don't have to enter my extension when checking my voice mail FROM MY DESK PHONE.

One of my biggest pet peeves is menus that don't have the most obvious commands as the default. I figure that most of the time you send a text message, it's to only one person, and it's usually a very small pool of recipients you're likely to choose from, right? So why does it take me 10 freakin keystrokes before I can even start typing a text to Jason? Why not have a speed dial for text messaging? And why does it take me 3 keystrokes to send it after I'm done? Argh!

They used Audix at Xerox too. It's the worst.
