Outsider Art

My brother is showing his paintings this weekend in a show here in NYC called the Outsider Art Expo, which celebrates artists outside the mainstream: self-taught, visionary, perhaps struggling with a disability or mental illness (schizo-affective and manic-depressive disorders, in my brother's case). He was accepted into the show via the Fountain

I'm proud of your brother! I wish I could be there today. I totally looked at some of his work online and it looks awesome. I'd love to see it in person.

the art show sounds fantastic! so i'm actually familiar with creative growth here in the bay area, and my friend has been to one of their showings and purchased something as well. so awesome!

And it all went well, yes? He didn't feel too much pressure in the end, did he? I know better than to tell you about your family, but maybe your mom was just really happy to be able to brag on Seth's accomplishments. You're so successful, and moms want to brag on all their kids. It seemed like everyone was pretty happy Sunday, so that's great! :)
