A note for people who will never read this:

Can we please stop having plays where people say exactly what they mean? Please, pretty please? All I want is a healthy dose of subtext.

Sometimes it should be more about what isn't said as opposed to what is said.

So what brought this on?

I'm now a playreader again (for The Women's Theatre Project). So I read a few plays with that problem on Friday. Then I saw a play with that problem on Saturday.

And it just made me sad.
