Justice Sandra Day-O'Connor is resigning. Crap. I had hoped most fervently that the justices would hold on till someone other than Monkey Boy was making appointments. Wonder what this appointment process is going to be like?

It occurrs to me that we're an oddly optimistic bunch in spite of the fact that we're all minorities of some sort (exept for racial?). Is this because, as minority types, we need to be optimistic or is it because we are active optimists trying to influence the world or are we just plain up? What would you say you are?

Yesterday, a good friend of mine from work gave birth to a baby boy. My friend has had trouble conceiving or keeping pregnancies all along. She and her husband tried for years before they had their daughter and needed the help of doctors. Now, by some strange accident of fate, she has this son through completely natural happenstance. Yep, today is gay pride day. I'm skipping the parade, even though I said I'd walk in it. I guess I just didn't feel like melting in the heat tonight. I am proud of being not really straight.
