No more LJ. I've moved over to 'Wordpress'. Don't get me wrong, I still like LJ, there' s a community aspect to it that I think a lot of other blog hosts lack, but on most other fronts, Wordpress is better. Also, I just wanted to move. I want to try a service with more flexibility and features. (trust me, Wordpress has both)

names and shit
My first Chinese name was given to me by my professor, Peimin Ni, who, from what I've heard, is pretty good at translating English names into Chinese. The name he gave me was 舒介生 (Shu JieSheng). A fine name indeed. I can't remember exactly what it implies (these three characters in this specific combination), but I know it has a certain scholarly ( Read more... ) -

I'm so glad Pan's Labyrinth is finally playing in theaters here. I was getting a bit worried I might have to suffer the small screen for such an awesome looking movie. Because I have pretty limited experience teaching English, and no real qualifications other than a bachelors (hopefully), I need to make every little thing I've done count. I really want to see "Tears of the Black Tiger". It's a Thai concept film that falls somewhere in between a 'spaghetti western' (eastern?), and the Asian exploitation films of the 60's and 70's. It looks really badass. Not to mention, gorgeous as well. -

So, after a full week of classes, I realized today that I signed up for the wrong Math class. Things seemed a little strange when I already owned the required text.
