Well?

You're here because you have something to say, so... out with it.

Isley?

[A long pause. She bites on her bottom lip a little because, well, she has a few things to say, but it's a matter of putting them in order. So, start with the simple.]

I've been in a terrible mood lately, and I don't know if you really mind, but I mind, so I'm sorry about it.

...even if you don't mind.

While I do appreciate the sentiment, Priscilla, if I've not asked you for an apology, then it means I'm not in the least offended by your actions of late.

[ ... ]

It seems you've more to say, however. Tell me, what haunts your mind?

...I thought that might be the case. But... it offends me. Because I don't want to be anything less than my best self, if I can help it. And you didn't do anything wrong, you were just... there.

[She rubs her face a little.]

There were a lot of things that came up during um, that weekend. [And you know which one she means. :|] Like that... everyone is afraid of me. I mean, everyone who understands... well! You know what I mean. So then I wondered...

...do you think that gets better over time? I talked to Teresa about it a little, but I don't think she cares very much. About anything.

By better, do you mean, does the fear gradually decrease over time?

I'm afraid I really can't say, as I'm not in the position to speak for other people. There is a chance that it may, but there is a chance that it may not; the result may be entirely dependent upon your actions in the meantime, and the path in which you choose to follow.

...Perhaps who you choose to keep as company as well?

Ah, but that's only something to consider.

Why does being feared upset you so, I wonder? Do you ever think that you give others opinions of you too much weight? Regardless of your position on the Patrol, in the end... so long as you are happy with who you are, that is all that should matter. Other people cannot honestly validate you or your existence.

So... are you happy with who you are, Priscilla?

...WELP here it comes. yetsleeping March 14 2011, 07:32:30 UTC
Isley.

[Someone's voice is shaking. Oh, it's hers. Definitely hers.]

[Maybe that's why it takes a moment for her to say anything else.]

I don't know... what you were doing there. But I don't want you anywhere near--

[There's a crunching, cracking sound. Because she just crushed a hunk of wall in her hand. Temper temper.]

Stay away.

Priscilla, it's wall abuse such as that which resulted in Humpty's fall. Be more careful. swordofthenorth March 14 2011, 07:36:59 UTC
It was a harmless meeting place, my dear Priscilla.

[ It's not possible for him to sound more calm. ]

You needn't worry yourself over it. I assure you, another attack on your precious home isn't on the horizon...not from me, at least.

It has nothing to do with worrying and everything to do with respect. Not that I expect you to understand that... which is why I won't bother explaining it. Just stay away.

And stop calling me that.

Reply

...Now who is lacking respect? Tsk, tsk. swordofthenorth March 14 2011, 07:48:53 UTC
If I lacked respect, I would have obliterated not only a portion of the walls, but everything...including the people and creatures living within the structure.

You really ought to rethink your accusations, dear one.

Nevertheless...if it pleases you, I'll attempt to keep my distance in the future.

On one condition.

Well, okay she did have one more thing to say. >.> yetsleeping March 14 2011, 17:40:49 UTC
[And the voice is shaking again.]

Isley. If you can't be bothered to tell me what you're trying to accomplish by forcing me to spend time with you, then yes. It's fair to say my answer is no.

I assume that wait was not too long.

What in the world gave you the impression I couldn't be bothered? I was perfectly willing to tell you why...if you agreed to be in my company.

If your answer is no, however...then that is that.

I respect your decision.

[ And I might make you regret it. ]

That strikes me as a little backwards. It's like... signing contracts without reading them.

[Which she's definitely learned not to do.]

If you want me to reconsider, then tell me what you want from it. If that's what you actually want, and you're not just... asking me for impossible things as an excuse to do whatever you like later.

She ought to be. swordofthenorth March 14 2011, 19:54:25 UTC
[ A long, drawn out sigh, and the sounds of shifting. Standing. Soft footsteps...pacing. ]

I want what I've always wanted from you, Priscilla.

You...all of you. I'm content to be in your company even if you loathe me for all that I've done. There is nothing else I could gain from having you close by my side.

[ Except knowing where you are. And perhaps being able to drive a sliver beneath your fingernails...something to distract you, or keep your attention on him. ]

Satisfied?

[Well, this is a little awkward. After all, they did leave things on a fairly good note, all things considered. Even so, what must be done must be done, so...]

Um. I don't mean to be rude, but we have one... bit of unfinished business.

[...]

I really can't have you lingering around the Headquarters. For one thing, it's inappropriate and for another I don't want to cause a panic or upset anyone. Or... spark any kind of... well, anyway, the point is...

[...not that she finishes the point. But well, it's fairly evident. Probably.]

swordofthenorth March 19 2011, 19:12:22 UTC
Very well.

[ Was that too easy? ]

Unless I've a very good reason, you won't catch me loitering around the Patrol Headquarters.

[ Is catch the keyword? Or maybe the key word would be me. Some combination of both, perhaps? Hmm... ]

Easiest bit of unfinished business ever wrapped up, wouldn't you agree?

yetsleeping March 19 2011, 20:37:32 UTC
[Definitely too easy. In fact it takes her a few blinks to process that.]

It was, actually. ...thank you?

[It's a bit of a struggle not to burst out with, "What are you up to?" In fact...]

Why?

Hmm, how very brusque of you, Isley.

[Is someone put out by having been possessed by the ghost of a little girl and looking for some entertainment at his expense? Possibly.]

I find myself endlessly curious about a certain matter. Would you be so kind as to indulge it?

If you have something to say, Riful, I would advise you to be done with it as quickly as possible.

Indulging you has never been a priority, after all.

Hmph. There really is no need to be so rude, but I will be brief.

I wonder, you see... now that you have destroyed the place you were living in, I assume you are no longer welcome back. Have you taken up new residence somewhere?

Reply

swordofthenorth March 29 2011, 15:07:45 UTC
You cannot be misguided enough to believe that the absence of welcome will prohibit me from venturing wherever I wish.

That said, I have taken up residence elsewhere for the time being. I'm sure it's more comfortable than whatever dank hole you crawled out of, my dear Riful.
