I mentioned in the last post that the anime is already making Shuri look "cute" while in the manga there's a noticeable divergence as time goes on between how the Oaks look.
ACTUALLY personally I think reconciling the earlier chapters and the later chapters is one of the things that makes playing Shuri fun. IS THAT WRONG OF ME.
MAYBE WHEN HE SHOWS UP AGAIN HE'LL BE ODDLY DIFFERENT IN SOME OTHER WAY... ... ... maybe he will just keep getting more sympathetic until he is actually a normal friendly person at the end of the series
THAT'S TOTALLY MY THEORY, he will keep appearing in various roles and every time something awful will happen to him and finally at the end he'll be like a normal well-adjusted guy.
I think it's like, to prepare us to be sympathetic or something, because the big-eyed Shuri shows up a few pages/the chapter BEFORE he gets traumatized. It's like "Oh hey he's so cute--BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW"
THAT MAKES SENSE TOO but it could be both! The author could be doing commentary on the fact that as soon as he stepped out of the academy he was totally out of his element, a kid rather than the aggressor he was there. I read him as more pathetic than sympathetic in that chapter, though I MIGHT HAVE BEEN INTERROGATING IT WRONG.
