Good news/Bad News

Remember when I mentioned that our AC blew up because of a power surge? Well, the check for nearly $1,500 came in the mail without any problems which I was, frankly, shocked about because it wasn't a little amount. I was glad for it because it was one less thing for my parents to worry about ( Read more... )

Yeah for getting the AC check. We fight the water company every month. Lol.

Sorry you are in such pain. Not fun. We are finally getting some rain here but the humidity has been brutal the last few days. Just read an article about using ginger ointment as pain relief for arthritis. The ginger is anti inflammatory and it also helps the pain.

Have you thought about doing palates? Supposed to be gentler on the joints but because you use your body weight as resistance you get a great work out.

Well, I've been drinking ginger tea for my stomachache. Never heard of using it in an ointment though. Will have to look into it. If nothing else, I'll smell awesome.

I've tried doing a bit of pilates that was included in some of the exercise DVDs I have. Most of the moves included seem to think I have abs of steel and can pretzel myself up like Gumby. :P

I've decided to take a long weekend from exercising. 3 years of going nearly non-stop, it's not going to kill me to take a few days off and heal up a bit.

Have you tried Turmeric? I have a friend with RA, and she said that helps with the inflamation. Comes in pill form at most health food stores.

Hope you feel better soon!

Thank you! I hope I feel better soon, too. LOL!

I've actually decided to take a long weekend of it, stay off my feet and non exercise. I'm hoping to heal up a bit. *fingers crossed*

I'll have to look into the Turmeric. Anything that can help that doesn't tank my system at this point. :P

Thank you! ♥

I've been taking it easy today and yesterday. Decided to give myself a three day, workout-free weekend. I'll start up small on Monday. I'm also thinking about looking in to local gyms that have swimming pools and water aerobics. My guess is the cross training -- kickboxing and step especially - was getting to me. :P

The weather forecast for the whole week is rain. Boo. It rained so hard and long here today that actually gave out sandbags for the people out in the country. Kind of ridiculous when you consider the sheer amount of rain we've gotten and California's in a horrific drought. Shame I can't just wave a magic wand and send all this wet stuff over there. :P

That's great news about getting the cheque.

The arthritis not so good, as a fellow sufferer I know how you feel. Maybe cutting down on the exercise for a while might be an idea, have you tried swimming, I find that good because you aren't doing much in the way of "impact" exercises.

I haven't done water aerobics in forever. I've considered it. There's a gym within walking distance of me that has a pool, but it's outdoors. I'm one of those lily white people that turns lobster red in 15.2 seconds. Teh sun. She is evil sometimes. :P

That and it's a mixed gender gym. I've got such body issues. You know how it is.

I'll have seriously look into it though because water exercise is a lot easier on the joints.
