I saw absolutely no American news organization cover it, so I wasn't aware until yesterday, but Derrida died on the 9th. Apparently it was cancer. I don't have a great deal more to say (not one of my favorite theorists, although someone I respect); I just thought I should make sure everyone knew, since no one has been talking about it.
