I am having serious problems with my Power Mac G5. Most of the time it won't boot, it will power up, the fans will start and you can hear the hdd spin but then there is no video/black screen. Just done a bit of research on G5 Hair Dryer syndrome and it would seem that all my problems point to that. I've tried the hair dryer, but to no avail so far. I'm a bit scared of melting the board if I leave it on too long.

However it would seem this is a terminal hardware problem which means I'm buggered. From what I've read so far, Apple are refusing to acknowledge this as a design flaw and aren't offering any kind of reasonable repair option.
