  • Day 3 - Saturday - Venice.

    syleth Sep 04, 2010 17:42

Saturday was to be our big sightseeing day, so after breakfast (yummy pastries and coffees, but also shocking banana yoghurt) we forayed out into the heat of the day. Venice was beautiful in the sunshine, with so much colour in the stalls and the modern shops, contrasting with the sepia of the buildings and the old mask and poster shops. After a ( Read more... )

  • Day 2 - Friday - Gargnana - around the lakes - on to Venice

    syleth Sep 03, 2010 23:00

Eager beaver that I am, I dragged us out of bed early enough to have breakfast in the garden. Ah, the joy of pastries for breakfast. We were out and on the road early, with a planned drive around some of the smaller lakes and then onto Venice. ** TODO INSERT ROUTE HERE**. The roads ascending the mountains were incredible - single lane and turning ( Read more... )

    syleth Sep 01, 2010 23:00

Having packed like a demon all day Wednesday, it felt strange to be pootling around the house with little to do on Thursday monrning. A great weekend - Mr Donnolly got married - how mad was that.

The weekend involved an epic amount of driving for luciddestiny - he had dreadful delays on the way there. I, on the other hand, spent the day in Manchester, and so got an easy train down to meet natural20 and, briefly, megglesmcgoo and her GC. Myself and N20 spent most of the evening chatting and exchanging gossip and ( Read more... )

It's the weekend - long awaited during a mildly crappy week.

Worked late on Friday to get a few last things finished, and met Amir and luciddestiny in Shoreham, to go to the beach and watch the sun go down. Had dinner in a little local restaurant - wasn't that keen on the herring, but my monkfish was delicious ( Read more... )

On the other hand, our tickets for Monza arrived this morning, so there's hope of wonderful things to come.
