Personality: Rin is fairly reserved, yet polite, having been taken at birth to essentially sing her life away to a dragon that could kill you if it pleased. She's had little contact with other people, aside from whomever raised her until she was old enough to perform her duties as a Diva, and is fairly naive as to how the outside world works. Rin has also dedicated herself to her fate, as there's no real way around it; a Diva is only replaced when she dies or a new one is born, after all, the the former has always happened before the latter.
That said, there's still this general fear of the unknown- despite her dedication, Rin is afraid of what might be, or what could be, though as there's nobody to really voice these thoughts out loud to, she weaves them into her songs to the dragon. Because she's essentially singing her life away, as well, it's taken a toll on her health, or is starting to, and Rin wonders what will come of this. Still, Rin continues to sing and dance for the dragon, as this is her fate, and she has accepted this.
Being isolated from the outside world, Rin's only contact with people is through the people that leave food for her, and it's never direct, if she sees them at all. She dreams, though, of a boy with her hair and eyes, who calls himself Len, and speaks to him in these dreams; although they haven't talked much, Rin and Len know each other's names, and feel a connection between each other. However, Rin isn't sure if Len is real or not; it's easy to blur the lines of dreams and reality, after all, and Rin could be imagining things in her loneliness. Still, she is curious about him, and hopes to see him one day.
Rin has a talent for making up songs on the spot, a talent possibly shared by past Divas as well, about things she's never seen before. This was something, that, at first, surprised her as well, but is possibly one of the things going for survival, the ability to keep the dragon content. Things such as the seasons, a butterfly in the woods, or a rainstorm in a faraway land, are intertwined into her melodies, as she sings for a fate that will certainly kill her one day.
As time marches on, and Len searches for his sister, Rin's time may possibly be coming to an end prematurely; a Diva is supposed to have both Shadow and Light to her voice, to keep the dragon tamed, but because she is a twin, Rin potentially only has one half of that. Kaito speculates this to Len at some point; Len's singing voice seems to have Light in it, which means Rin only has Shadow. This, according to him, means Rin is possibly literally singing her life away, as the pv shows her starting to weaken.
Still, Rin perseveres, remaining dedicated to her fate. In the end, she is a Diva, and the only thing she truly knows is her life as one. All roads have the possibility to lead to death, either way, or it would seem.
