Ooooh...I had to write an essay about this in philosophy! It doesn't matter either way. LoL If you push the button and you aren't shot but the guy will die...You have to live with that forever, plus if you had to watch it that would be really bad...So, you die as a person, rather than physically...And often dying physically is better than dying psychologically. I don't know, it's a tough one, though.

I think it depends on how much you could live with yourself for killing the man. It seems like simply a personal choice of whether you'd rather die or live knowing you'd killed someone who probably didn't deserve to die, despite the fact that it may have been inevitable. I think I'd do it. If I couldn't live with the pain, I'd kill myself, and the outcome would ultimately be the same, except for the martyrdom, which doesn't really make sense to me, because I don't imagine it matters much after you're dead what the people who aren't dead think of you.
