Another Fantastic Four movie? COOL! I had no idea they were making another one. Hope you liked your trip. reading the posts on it made me contact an old friend out there that works at Disney. Ironicall, his name is Mickey.
understood completely, it berated by most if not all that had read more than one of the original comics. . . which added to my surprise at seeing the first scene of the preview, and then Surfer showed up and I was ready to buy my ticket (it was like oh great an asteroid, wait it doesn't look like one now, Wait it couldn't be, It IS IT IS, and much internal happidancingness took place)
And yes my weird cow-irker thinks I'm even more weird now, but ta'hell with'er - it was her idea to 'demand' to see a movie without an idea of what she wanted to see . .. .
You know, with all comic movies there comes a point where you have to grin and bear it. I liked the first FF better than I thought I would. I was always a big fan, and of course I think Dr. Doom is the greatest villain ever. I didn't like him getting powers. But I understood why they did it.
You're right, there is a certain point where they just can't do things in the movies that can be done in the comics. Such as costumes. But when the director goes and CHANGES ORIGINS of well established, decades long-fan-base-following characters, that's going too far.
I am SOOO jazzzing over the Ghost Rider movie that is releasing this Friday. I'll be up EARLY Saturday morning to go see it first thing. I've already heard rumors that it is going to be something of a 'mish' of the GR 2nd gen and 3rd gen (Johnny Blaze and Daniel Ketch) which bugs me a bit since Johhny Blaze does show up in GR 3rd gen as a re-occuring character. BUt, I am also enthused that Nicholas Cage is a big GR fan and apparently so is the director. Plus, any Marvel comic-made-movie has had direct input from Stan Lee at the least, and in the case of GR I hear that the original writers for GR had a direct hand in the movie so I remain very hopeful it hasn't been too badly corrupted.
