(I didn't see this post till too late to try tracking you down before you headed back to Stansted).

Glad you enjoyed your brief time in Cambridge - next time you should arrange to be here a bit longer and I can give you the guided tour round my old college and you can complete your Cambridge experience with the obligatory punting trip along the river past the backs of the Colleges.

As well as the US airmen in WWII The Eagle is also notable for being where Crick & Watson went to celebrate discovering the structure of DNA.
