A lot of the apps I have are US or Chicago specific, so here are the ones that aren't:
Google (great all-round search app, love the voice search) The Weather Channel (more detail than the default weather app) Twitterific (there are other Twitter options, but I like this one) Flashlight (don't pay for it, there's a free one) Facebook eBay Epicurious
Games I like: Dr Awesome Crash Kart Enigma JellyCar Rolando Drop7(Lite)
My mail is hooked up to gMail. I have my calendar connected to my gCal, which is linked to my husband's, so anything either of us adds shows up on both. Avoids lots of arguments.
I've had my phone jailbroken for as long as I've had it, which is nearly a year. It was completely painless and very quick, especially since I'm just worried about installing non-appstore applications, rather than breaking free from AT&T. The main reasons I keep it jailbroken is the ability to FTP into the phone, and being able to tether it with my laptop (which AT&T now allows, but you have to pay extra to do it).
I bet you would like Ewe Stash. It's an app to keep track of your yarn stash and knitting/crochet needles. I love it! Great for when you are out shopping and can't remember if you have a particular sized needle or not.
