Did a little search and destroy this morning in the weed department, and harvested a huge double armful of chard, which after cleaning, stemming and blanching came out to 3 pints for the freezer. There's plenty more where that came from. Still no green tomatoes or peppers. I've seen plenty of bees and there are blossoms, so eventually ( Read more... )

Went to see the last Harry Potter film. I think it was well done, and I'm astounded at the quality maintained throughout the series. My only real gripe is the quantity of flash, bang and swoop involved in this one, but I guess when you've got that many wizards wizarding so desperately, it's inevitable. Anxious and unhappy about the stupidity quotient on the political front these days. It's also a little stressful at work right now, but them's the breaks.
