So apparently, Eng 1C, 'critical thinking', will involve nothing but critically thinking about Jesus. The required texts include various gospels, the Bible, and the DaVinci Code. My guess on your professor would be that he is unsatisfied with the religious organizations but has some ideals and experiences some sort of "spiritual" feeling. Kind of like voting Democrat because it focuses more on personal liberties, but being disturbed by how much pettiness and graff there is in the party. Something like that.

It is however rather ridiculous that it matters what he thinks, given he is an English professor. You know, I read Paradise Lost too, but I wouldn't try to come off as an expert on the Anglican faith. It actually seems hilariously ironic that an English professor would seemingly insinuate claims outside his ability to support or his expertise...now THAT'S an English 101 lesson right there for you.

Hmmm... I think I'd still call my6self religious if I believed in anything at all spiritual... but I guess it's just semantics. Anyway, the good news is he's been approaching the Bible very critically, so I don't think I have to worry about getting an F if I offend him (the tradeoff is that he cares about accuracy...).
