Today for the first time in US history a black man is the president elect.  I cannot express the elation that I feel.  Threw all the long hard months of primaries and debates and attacts I hoped and I prayed and today my prayers were answered.  I feel a new day dawning for America.  One where i can stand tall and be proud og my country.  Tonight

Yes! My son (8) and I stayed up until midnight and I was crying with happiness when they announced the results. I hadn't dared let myself hope most of this year because I didn't want to be crushed if we lost. It gives me a lot of hope for our future. :^)

I know....thats it exactlly...so many times when it looks like good things might happen dreams and hopes get crushed...but now I have that hope back...that feeling that maybe just maybe this country and this world can be healed.
