I came to the realization that the photo-transistors for my player piano project would not work as proper signal control for the notes.

So now I am going to use bobby pins in their place.

I feel so smart!

Told my dad about my player piano project, so he took me out to the Boardwalk to see the Wulitzer Band Organs. I was actually able to go behind them, and watch them run with an eye on the actual mechanisms. It was so cool! And really, really loud.

So, I figure that will be a project in years to come. I figure I should make something really big and

Got a keyboard (music), talked price down from 50 to 40 bucks due to a couple keys not working. Hacked it, and not only do I have the dead keys working, but from internal I am about to get 66 notes, not just the 61 from the keys I have. Woot! During lunch at work tomorrow I will draft up a circuit for it to make wiring and all that jazz easier ( Read more... )

Today started off bad, hurting a lot in my leg from my sciatic cist. Had to stay in bed for 10 minutes before I could get up. Had to change my schedule as there was no way I could drive, but had to take the train instead ( Read more... )
