Reupholstering an Armchair

Anyone ever done any big time Reupholstering? I was thinking of doing the chair I have in the living room and one of the cushions from the couch as it has a tear. The hardest part I can see is finding matching faberic. It's either that or redoing all three pieces of furniture! Which is needless to say likely outside of both the time and money ( Read more... )

No big time. I've done the seats of dining room/kitchen chairs many times. Whole chairs, never. I would point out that you don't need matching fabric. Coordinating with other colors would work fine. Just find somethign that looks nice with the existing couch.

That's more or less been the idea I have had. I just need to find some fabric that will match the colors and stuff. I was considering trying to find the EXACT match but I think that would be to much trouble. Though if I were able to do that I could redo the one cushion on the couch which has a tear in it.

maybe just look for an accent color that would work well. Don't make it a 'matching' piece make it an 'accent' piece.

You could do a solid color of the fabric's main color.

Well it kind of already is. I'm going to take pictures hopefully tonight and post them to see what people think. It may be fine 'as is' possibly.
