It is with a sense of great excitement that I realised that here I have a place that the ex and her friends have no awareness of. So I can rant and rave all I like without her seeing it and deciding to take it upon herself to 'protect' me. There aren't any benefits to being selfish, other than getting what you want but that just feels like a hollow, guilty victory. I'd gladly sacrifice that if it made the people I care about happy or, at least, not unhappy. Sure, it sucks being the one having to fix things when you've got pieces of yourself needing a bit of glue. In the end, though, it's rewarding to know you did the right thing or what you thought was best. It's better to have good intentions than just abandon something, I think.

As for you being more social and mastering skills, it's always seemed to me that you're quite a popular person and very well-liked. I'm not leaning towards that whole "low self-esteem" bandwagon either. Everyone always speaks highly of you - I've certainly never heard a bad word from anyone. Well, other than they don't get to see you as often as they'd like.

Get your ass to Spiders, dammit!

People speak highly of me because I am very capable in certain social arenas, certain other social areas leave me a wreck. I'm entertaining to have around and a rather good listener, all of which are highly desirable traits in friends, my self esteem isn't great, but thats just part of my personality, its not something I mope about and I certainly don't feel unLIKED.

All in all I actually feel pretty good, just the situation with the ex is stressing me. Things could be better, but things could be seriously soooo much worse.

And I do get out to Spiders :p Quite possibly more then you! I'm at Code tonight for Battle of the Bands (£1 entry, £1 drinks, all good :D)
