Summary: Leeteuk discovers what Heechul is hiding behind the dorm.

#053 - Puppies
Leeteuk grumbled as he headed behind the dorm towards the dumpsters. “Stupid teenage boys. Totally ignoring the chore list and just waiting for me to take the trash out.”
Leeteuk just hefted the trash bag higher on his shoulder and made his way near the dumpster. Reaching it, he was still muttering to himself. “Next time someone just happens to forget, I'll dump the trash in their room and see if they can forget it then.”
Throwing the trash in the dumpster, Leeteuk turned to head back into the dorm when a familiar voice stopped him.
“Aww. Look at you cuties play. Here, I have a toy for you.” Leeteuk knew that voice. He has to hear it bitch and moan enough. He was sure he could recognize it even if he were dying.
Leeteuk walked down the side of the building, listening to the whoever it was talk to something in a high-pitched voice.
Leeteuk turned the corner to see Heechul squatting next to a moving box. He had his hands in it, laughing.
Leeteuk cocked an eyebrow at the typically bitchy and cold Heechul acting like a child.
That gave a clue as to what’s in the box. That attitude was reserved for only a couple things.
“Heechul. What are you doing?” Leeteuk asked suddenly
Heechul quickly tossed a blanket over the box and stood up next to it, fidgeting.
“Teukie. Hey. How’s it going? Why are you out here?” Heechul asked, grabbing Leeteuk’s arm in an attempt to pull him back in the dorm.
Leeteuk was having none of that. He pulled his arm away and went to the box to see if he was right. Ignoring Heechul’s cry of protest, he pulled the blanket back and saw three little squirming puppies.
Leeteuk just sighed as Heechul raced back over to play with them. Leeteuk knew he had been right. Heechul only used the baby voice to his younger nieces or to animals.
“Heechul. Heechul!” Leeteuk said, trying to get his attention.
Heechul just grabbed one of the puppies and picked it up. Holding it next to his face, he turned pleading eyes toward Leeteuk. “Yes, Teukie?”
Leeteuk just sighed again. “You know you can't keep them here. It's against the rules for animals to be in the dorm.” Leeteuk tried telling him.
Heechul just scoffed and picked up a different puppy to play with. “If it’s against the rules, then why is Yesung not in trouble, huh?”
“Really now, Chul? You’re going to try and compare keeping a puppy to Yesung's turtle?” Leeteuk replied.
Heechul gave Leeteuk the evil eye “Yes, because it’s an animal and you said it's against the rules. Besides, what good is having a best friend as the Resident Advisor if I'm not able to escape some of the rules?”
Leeteuk just snorted and responded “You act like I never let you out of anything. We both know that’s totally not true.”
Heechul chose to ignore that and changed tactics. “Teukie, I saved them. They were going to be taken to the pound and put down. They are too young for that. They have to live life some.” Heechul said, holding a puppy toward Leeteuk.
Leeteuk grabbed the puppy and looked Heechul in the eyes. “Look, if it wasn’t against the rules, I would say we could keep one for the dorm, but it's just not practical. With all of us always busy we wouldn’t have time to take care of it.”
Heechul started to gain a depressed look on his face and took the puppy back from Leeteuk. He put it back in the box and started cooing at them.
Leeteuk sighed. A depressed Heechul was never a good thing. He would make everyone’s life hell for the next couple of weeks. A sudden thought hit Leeteuk.
“Hey, Heechul. If we could give them to people we know and would want them will that make you happy?” Leeteuk said after a couple minutes.
Heechul turned hopeful eyes to Leeteuk. “Do you have someone in mind and could I still see them?” He picked one up. “Because this one has grown on me.”
Leeteuk just nodded.

A Week Later
Leeteuk was on the phone with his older sister.
“How are the puppies? Are the kids loving them?”
Leeteuk heard a shriek, laughing and loud yipping in the background when his sister responded. “Oh yes, the kids love them. Although my husband is still iffed from when you dumped them here when he wasn’t home.”
Leeteuk just laughed. “Of course. I know your husband. I made sure the kids would be attached with the puppies before he got there and we both now he can’t deny those kids anything.”
His sister just laughed. Leeteuk saw Heechul make a beeline for him. “Hey sis, Heechul want to talk to you. Here he is.” Leeteuk passed the phone to Heechul and started heading to his room. Last thing he heard was Heechul asking 50 questions about how the puppies were and what they were doing.
