I just had the worst doctor experience EVER.  Tricare assigned me to a new doctor, since I'm not pregnant anymore.  Well, I had my first appointment today for the migranes/depression/lack of sleep/being sick. This doctor is off post, and is a civillian doctor.

The doctor came in, and was very short with me to begin with.  When I started talking to

You can guarentee that if a sales women called me fat I would punch her in the face. Lol. She would not have a job left.
As for the doctor... maybe he is just really confused... This will be a wonderful learning experience for the both of you. :)

lol, I wish I knew how to stand up for myself sometimes, but I just can't do it. I don't know why. And people always pick on me because I'm an easy target.

you need to write a formal letter to the doctor/practice and also tricare to let them know about the care he gave you. You could also forward it to your local congressperson.

It's this kind of behavior in the medical world that bugs me.

I have a fucking fabulous doctor that is pro breastfeeding and I wish I could clone him for all breastfeeding moms.

But you need to speak up or he'll continue to treat patients this way. :)

I'm sorry. Can you get referred to another doctor by tricare?

It would have taken every ounce of me to NOT slap the shit out of that man. I can't believe he acted that way and said those things. What the hell kind of bedside manner is that?! Gah. I'm sorry things are so shitty for you. Did he find a medication that was 'safer' to take while breastfeeding Jude? I hope so. I get migraines and I know they hurt. :(

I don't know... he said he'd call me if he found something and he hasn't. :( I'll have to wait another 2-4 weeks before I can see another doctor.

What a complete and utter ass!!

Frankly, I'd report him. Complain to everyone he's
affiliated with. Hospitals, Doctors groups, Tricare,
the works. This shouldn't be let go.

I'd look for another doctor too, b/c this is just
crazy. There has to be someone in your system that
knows what they're doing, and can actually do it
professionally.

Ugh, so sorry you went through that.

yeah, I'm going to call tricare tomorrow and have them assign me a new doctor. It just sucks, because it takes a week or longer for them to get me the info, then another 1-3 weeks to get an appointment. Blah.
