Lets see um...I like the different divisions of labor, and actually the sexiest part of this was how Erik just kind of inserted Charles as wife-ruler and no one dared question it. I love Colossus, and that Badger gets her just desserts finally!
But I'm calling the super angsty ending right here: Erik is going to die or kill himself and LEAVE the Brotherhood to Charles. Everything you're doing is setting it up, but I wasn't sure until that little interlude about appointing new members vs voting them in....

I have to say, I'm going to be sad when I go back to original fiction, because it seems like publishers tend to frown on explicit gay porn! (also would you believe I'd never even written kissing before this fic??)
Uuuuhhh well... I will tell you that you're the closest anyone has ever gotten to guessing correctly, but that there are still some surprises left??
Thank you! <3

. . . . .
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. ;______; I never want my favorite stories to end, even though it allows me the joy of an ending, a completed work, a resolution. Because it also means there's nothing more to read, which is always terribly tragic.
. . . but it really means that I should stop being horrible and try to give decent comments again. Since my chance to offer them is becoming more and more limited.
I think the best thing about this chapter is probably the side characters: Dorian, Badger, and Colossus-- Badger because she's consistently awesome, Dorian for showing that Charles does have a rather significant amount of personal charisma to dispense given the opportunity (at last!), and Colossus for being impressively badass while also being incredibly, earnestly . . . well, decent, no better word for him. He's like the Russian version of Captain America, and as that's the first comparison that's sprung to my mind it mainly illustrates that Marvel fandom has set up shop in my brain, ye gods ( ... )

Pray tell me, sir, whose dog are you?

Thank you for that!
Ah good good; I always worry about my side characters! Especially the OCs like Badger. But yes, they are all there for a reason and I'm glad you like them too! :D
Yes yes! This was very much a transitional, re-adjusting chapter, meant to show how Charles' life could be if he sat back and accepted Erik's plan for him.
Hahaha yes, Charles never got into that habit and he likes to separate himself from the rest. :)
Ah, I like that poem, thank you! c:

This was just such a beautiful contrast to chapter 20! The hestitant, almost gentle ways of Erik and his efforts to make it look like he and Charles are ruling together - it all creates more of those gorgeous layers I mentioned in my last comment <3
Also, I get the feeling that Erik is preparing for something; possibly something that won't be too good for him, but good for Charles, at least in his mind...
But that's just my brain overanalyzing things :)

Ahaha, yes, I didn't even realize how much of a contrast, myself, until I went back and reformatted them for AO3! But yes, now that Erik has what he wants (not necessarily what he asked for), he's much more accomodating.
He may be, he may be... You'll have to see! ;)
Thank you!

"...until Charles reached up to bundle his hands in Erik’s jacket and pull him down.
Erik’s hands darted down to catch himself on the chair’s armrests; Charles felt the curl of his smile as he opened his mouth to Charles’ tongue."
That mental image is going to be on loop for a good while. Unf. Charrrrles, just admit it, you've been successfully stockholmed, and you're quite enthusiastic about it.
Erik. ERIK. What are you planning? It certainly seems like your thoughts are elsewhere. An elsewhere full of tragedy and despair that I do not like one bit. I'm also pretty sure Charles wouldn't like it either-- you know what? Scratch that. I'm pretty sure Charles would actually notice something was up but for the convenient Fellatio of Distraction. Nice work there ( ... )

Ahaha, thank you for that. Yeessss although Charles may also be desperate too, or trying to forget it!
Mmmhmmm, yep, Erik's end goal has never really been "get in Charles' pants," but since Charles considers himself to be very fine that hasn't really occurred to him yet. Yes, though, Charles has figured out Erik's lack of experience, and will at some point (very soon) inquire about it. That'll be a fun conversation!
FLAAAAAAX
Awwwww I'm sorry! *hughughug* And uh, yeah, maybe. These few chapters are sort of the calm before the storm? And then the end is going to arrive veeeery shortly (although not suddenly). Some Feels may be implicated along the way, I'm afraid.
