Yesterday Chris and I did our shopping at Albertson's and bought $160 "worth" of non sale groceries for effectively $25 dollars.  We really spent $75, but we have 2 $20 mail in rebates and 2 $5 coupons for our next grocery visit for a total of $50 extra dollars ( Read more... )

I've been having a lot of fun doing historical research--- on my house.  It's kind of like doing genealogy because you're really learning about the people who have lived in the house over time.  I probably won't be learning about every family that lived in this house because it has been a rental duplex for about half it's history-- although I do ( Read more... )

My parents came and visited for a day and a half. They came to see the house and shop for armoires and the like. We spent the whole of Friday (after one game of pinochle) wandering through antique shops, used furniture shops, and a couple of new furniture shops before we went to the Hilton to look at their used armoires that they listed on ( Read more... )

We are officially moved into our new house... we will continue to unpack for a while, and get the upstairs unit ready to rent.

We will soon be sending out a postcard with updated information on it.

Chris and I have been looking at other houses since we seem to be going know where on the house we currently have an offer on. We found a house we really like and are deciding whether to put an offer on it right away or wait a couple of weeks to see if the other one goes through.
