And Kage's the one who's hesitant to even try and rebuild what he'd had with the first Chase. A lot of him doesn't believe he'll ever have his buddy back. It's safer just to stay away.

[Chase grasps the metal railing, feet pressed up against the glass, and then he lets go. The teen allows himself to slowly fall back some, before catching himself last second with his hands on the bar again. He does this a couple times, occupying himself with the action.]

Yes, the stuff he left behind was definitely minor. Totally minor.
Kage squints over the edge of the boat, remembering the feeling of the rifle he'd been holding so long ago, and its kickback each time he shot someone fleeing from the burning house. The memory was still sharp, burned into his brain by the bump of the drug he'd been dosed with at the time. The name of it translated into something like 'No Regrets'.
He breaths out a smile. That'd been pretty exciting.]

[The vague reply doesn't catch Chase's attention; Kage purposefully made it sound boring. If the man wasn't enthused about it, Chase couldn't be assed to pry details out of the man - he could tell just from that that it would be too much work. Probably not worth it.]
