I completely agree with you on all accounts! Thank you! Thank you for this lovely, well written, intelligent and rational post discussing this topic. It's treat to read. I dislike the jokes about Peter thinking with his dick. I feel like saying are you watching the same show as me? The man was completely in love. The look on his face when he discovered the truth broke my heart because I know it was destroying his heart. In that moment he feared for his Oliver physically and was dealing with the fact that he lost her romantic.

I don't think people truly understand how much Peter telling Oliver the truth means. I completely agree with you that I don't think Peter is going to push or expect anything from Oliver.

Both Peter and Oliver where brutally wronged. They both had they lives and hearts, all be in in different ways, ripped apart. I feel for both of them. I hope that in time they will heal and come back together.

i don't hate peter. i'm angry at him for not realising something was up with olivia, because, freaking hell, he knows about doubles and shapeshifters and alternate universes and the closest anyone came to thinking something was up was NINA. NINA! who continues to be awesome in every way! i feel like they made peter ignorant to make this storyline happen. i can't stand it when supposedly intelligent people do something incredibly stupid. fauxlivia slipped up many, many times, but hey, whatever ( ... )

That's mostly where I am right now. I don't hate Peter at all, I'm just wondering why he clung to the Idiot Ball so hard.

But I don't hate him, and I don't hate Olivia, and I'm aching for both of them. Oh, Fringe. Why so awesome?

Ah, the Idiot Ball. One of the more frustrating tropes to exist *le sigh* But if they keep working at it, have Peter try and explain why he thought what he thought, or have Olivia ask again later once she's not so angry, then maybe he won't seem so thick?

It's a really terrible situation for both of them, which is why it's so good. Poor darlings. Great tv, though!

I'm not mad at Peter. For me, I'm mad at the writers because I think it's a huge plot hole that none of them were suspicious at all. However, they did it, so forgetting about the fourth wall for the moment, Peter didn't do anything wrong. Has he come across as kinda dumb? Yes, but that's not a crime.

That said, I don't blame Olivia for her reaction. She's just very hurt right now, and just needs some time for the sting to lessen.

(I don't think Peter was raped though. Humiliated and manipulated horribly but not raped. He slept with her willingly. I think Peter mustbe horribly humilated at the moment. Not just because he slept with someone else, but now he knows he was grossly manipulated and used by Walternate as well.)

He didn't exactly sleep with her willingly; his consent was to sleep with his!Olivia, not alt!Livia, and if he had known the truth I strongly doubt he would have gone ahead. In that sense he was tricked into consenting and therefore I don't think it was actual consent.

You make some great points here and I agree with you. They were both used and victimized and are both suffering a lot because of Walternate and Altlivia (who is also a bit of a victim herself).

Great insightful post.
