Marsha, Excellent! That feeling of Jack brushing against him by the wind was so lovely. The description of his killers going on to live their own lives was breaking. Really poignant.

I like your style. cynical21 June 25 2006, 17:06:41 UTC
You've really captured the Ennis Del Mar that I saw in the film and given breath to his deep pain and bottomless mourning. Even knowing everything we know, there are moments here that just stab at the heart.

Thanks for writing it, and I am eager to see more.

"No; it was just one of the drafts in the trailer that would brush against his hair in a way that reminded him of the way Jack used to nuzzle it. Or the harder wind hitting the trailer at night, sounding like the moaning noises Jack used to make during their lovemaking that still made him hard just to think about." *GASP* WOW!

And the other dream - the nightmare - that (Jack's) brushing is awakening him from? Can't wait to see where you're going with this.

Oh how sad this was to read. My heart just breaks for poor Ennis. But how wonderful that he is so determined to walk Alma Jr. down that church aisle.

Thank you for writing this. I'm off to read the next chapter.
