Chapter 19

When Ennis woke up at daybreak, the first thing he noticed about the room was that Jack was no longer there. The second was that although the bed was the most comfortable one he could remember sleeping in, the overpowering need to sleep had left him as abruptly as it had arrived. He lay for a moment, mentally stroking and examining the sound of ( Read more... )

T, when you update you don't do it by halves. Quite a lot of change for Ennis while he changes location he also works on changes of himself. Sad that Jack leaves him behind but Jack has the right of it. Ennis needs to be free to concentrate on just one person. Jack may just be stepping back but keeping some attention on those he cares for. Looking forward to more.

thanks

Lake Superior was not "pretty," as he had heard people describe other lakes. It was wild, and mysterious, and savagely, hypnotically beautiful

How beautifully you described the lake and Ennis's amazing reaction to all of it.
I love the house, you describe it wonderfully, and I love David and I'm glad the ice was broken between them, whew!!

"Did I handle that okay, Jack?"

Aw..*heart squeeze*

THANK YOU! Marcia, so much. I really hope you'll be able to update again soon. :) It was so lovely to be back in your world again and to read your beautiful writing. :)

Life has to move on. Jack is gone but will never be forgotten. That's the way life is. What we are today is because of how we have lived. Would we do things differently if we could do some things over again? That is an unanswerable enigma. Take what today offers, but looking back too much or with too much regret will not allow you to be happy today.

Thanks for writing this. Looking forward to more, more more......

I really (really, really) have missed this story and was thrilled to see your long update today. Yayyyy! Fascinating, as always, with Jack watching over his Ennis (both of them waiting until they can be together again, which I think is fascinating all by itself). But then there's David, who is still a virtual stranger to Ennis, but the attraction is there, on both their parts, and I can't *wait* to see what happens now! Great job.
