I hate Jack's death stories but I love Ennis seeing a new future. Will you be my friend? Thank you Martha

Marcia - I love this story. Your writing is just so fluid and easy. I feel the care with which you write in every word. This is so good.

I want to go back and reread again before you post up the next chapter.

I adore the way Ennis is moving along at a very slow pace, but over time he's getting there, getting to a place where he can be a full person again.

Thank you so much for this wonderful tale! :)

Helen :)

I wanted to say a special "thank you," as I don't think I'd ever contacted you to thank you for all the encouragement and support you've given me during this writing project. It's the only fanfic I intend to write but means a great deal to me -- "Gift of Exile" represents the breaking-up of a writer's block that lasted more than a decade. IMO that could not have happened with just the writing -- a big part of it was the encouragement and support I've received, and you've certainly been a big part of that.

Any of you reading this, feel free to contact me through my profile.

Hi Marcia :)

I'm so pleased that I've been able to encourage you in writing this. :) I think its pacing and content rate it beyond the usual fanfic genre and one of the many reasons I love it so much is that you tell a REAL story. Nothing dramatic or incredible happens and so it is much more realistic and lifelike than many other pieces of fiction in the community.

Of course, opinion is very subjective, but your way of writing is definitely one of my preferred types of reading matter - ordinary people living ordinary lives, and yet you make it so interesting without resorting to drama.

Helen :)

I admit I'd forgotten about this story of yours. I was thrilled to see a new chapter up today. Personally, I like MO!Ennis fic, where the author gives him hope, new love, and a few rays of light into his life-after-Jack. Hey, why not?

I absolutely loved him making his room his own, with the shirts, his hat, the BBM postcard, and Jack's quilt. He's absolutely right-- Jack is no farther away from him there than he was back in WY.

Lovely, and I can't wait to read more!! I think for fun, I'll go back and read the old stuff, too.

Seems like both Ennis and David have someone who is gone but surely not forgotten. Wonder if each will have someone unseen watching over them? Ennis does not have many posessions but he brought the important ones.

thanks
