I'd like to see how Jack reacts to Ennis's new situation to. The repeated asking of "do you love me?" drew to mind Jesus asking his disciples of their trust.
I hope Ennis gets on with Maggie ok. Maybe he will confide in her. Not long til we find out :)

Hey, someone finally spotted that connection! It's from John 21:15-70.
(verse 70) He said to him the third time, 'Simon, son of John, do you love me?' Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, "Do you love me?" And he said to him, 'Lord, You know all things; you know that I love you.' Jesus said to him, 'tend my sheep."
The conventional interpretation of that is that basically Jesus is charging Peter to go out and get converts and establish a religious institution. My own take on it is that he's telling Peter to take the love that he's reaffirmed (after denying it three times) for his beloved and holy teacher and carry that out into the world.
This isn't any suggestion of Jack as a Jesus figure; but he's doing much the same thing. Ennis is being given a chance to affirm what he'd been denying for so long.
Thanks for reading! Ennis will get along with Maggie, but needless to say he'll have a lot to adjust to.

Well, glad to see another chapter up. Your story of Ennis finding a new place, away from his comfort zone, moving on in his life, has always been a special one to me. I always thought that Ennis had that capacity, as long as the circumstances were right, and here they are.
The pictures are intriguing, telling Ennis that David has something powerful happen in his life, too, that is partly hidden but partly waiting and wanting to be found and understood by the proper person. The Phoenix rising from the ashes of his own destruction, and the graveyard from which none arise except on the last day. David and ...? When can they find the proper time to confide all in each other?
Can only wish Ennis the best now. Know Jack is around, and Jack knows that one of Ennis' new acquaintances can see him. Both circumstances will be interesting and helpful to Ennis, I'm sure.
Thanks again.
