OK, the Ontario Birth Certificate system is screwed and he's why. You'll remember the Mike Harris common sence revolution. Well as part of that, they fired most of the staff that use to manage birth certificates because their were clearly too many of them. Only now the remaining staff can't keep up with the demaind. So they get further and further behind until such time as it's embarrising. Then they hire a bunch of temps, train them, get them to help with the back log, then fire them again. Because apperently keeping a few of these trained staff members would bloat the civil service.

I want to punch Mike Harris in the junk. Honestly, I better get a birthcertificate made of solid gold when this shit is done, after all, I'm paying 70 bucks for it now.

As they still couldn't find their own arse with both hands and a good seeing eye dog...

Shame you don't have a positive pay system on your bank account, as then it would be easy to negate the first payment...that would get them moving.

Did you try using your passport? As in theory that's also supposed to work as a valid piece as it requires you to have several other things first to get it.

but then again, i think of the loops I lept through getting my Passport...shudder,,

If you have a passport you should be able to use that along with some proof of residency (a bill that was mailed to you normally will do nicely), to get a health card.
