I have a name, Jack Sparrow. [ but she still sounds amused. ] How has the end of the Malnosso's little experiment found you?

Ah, that. Not...physically injured?

[It's the best he can shoot for at this point.]

And you, Kirsikka?

I? I am well. As well as I always am. I assure you I hold no hard feelings. Honestly, it was quite fun. [ a laugh. ] Would you, perhaps, desire company? Settling for "uninjured" strikes me as a somewhat sorry state.

[Cassandra... Kirsikka... they sound kind of similar! Hey, maybe she helped her remember her name?]

Miss Cass-- I mean miss Kirsikka! Remember me?

Okay! You said you wanted my name, right, miss Ca-- miss Kirsikka? [She sounds embarrassed.] I'm, um... Vivi. Vivi Aislinn.

...is it okay if I can still call you Cassie?

I KNOW, RIGHT. I LOVE IT. talvimyrskyn February 25 2011, 02:11:25 UTC
It is a pleasure, Vivi.

[ a beat. her name ... held a great deal of meaning for her. it defined her in many ways, and was now the only gift she still possessed from her parents. however... ]

You may. It is a nice name.

[Oh, turbulent emotion is definitely the way to describe a kid whose heart's been played like a ... plaything this last experiment. Stupid Malnosso experiments. Leon is trying to distract himself from the draft announcement and the lingering effects of the experiment when he runs across this New Feather's entry.]

"Finally be able to speak"? [It's the first thing that catches his ear.]

I had lost my grasp on language. I had spent a very long time not speaking -- that is, speaking any human language. I have finally remembered.

So you arrived in Luceti with no way of communicating? [That sounded ... difficult, to say the least.]

Hmm... I was not entirely without communication. I have spent much of my life around animals, and learned to converse with them freely. Bird song, I discovered, was quite effective in expressing my more basic feelings and questions. However, my inability to communicate more complex thoughts was frustrating.

Thanks for de-icing the pathway.

[ laughs, warmly. ]

You are welcome. Perhaps next time you will not mistake me for the plaything of a child?

[ she says this with neither reproach nor malice; simply amusement. ]

Don't worry, I've learnt my lesson. Glad to hear you've found your voice.

And what is so joyful about the the occasion, if you do not mind me asking?

I had lost my grasp on human language. It was very frustrating being unable to communicate easily with those around me ... aside from the animals, of course.

Most unfortunate. Might I ask how such a thing came to pass? It is not often one hears of losing grip on language as a whole.
