Hmm... I was not entirely without communication. I have spent much of my life around animals, and learned to converse with them freely. Bird song, I discovered, was quite effective in expressing my more basic feelings and questions. However, my inability to communicate more complex thoughts was frustrating.
I had lost my grasp on human language. It was very frustrating being unable to communicate easily with those around me ... aside from the animals, of course.
