We're two weeks away from opening Ruddigore. (Tickets can be purchased here: http://lyrictheatre.org/jl/tickets/onsale.html but ask me first if I have some discount vouchers.)

I'm really enjoying this show )

If you're old, I'm a crone. Just saying.

Glad to hear that it's been a positive experience.

I'm old and I've been ill for too long. Let's just say I'm feeling every year I've got and double for all Teo's years. I'm hoping it's still possible to amend some of that.

And being a crone is only a problem when you start cackling. Have you started cackling yet?

I've cackled for years. It's actually lessened some with having the farm (probably exhaustion--difficult to cackle when tired). I'm turning into chubby version of Granny Weatherwax as I age.

Whereas I'm more a tall Nanny Ogg. The food, the gin, the innuendo... yes, definitely Nanny Ogg.

Not so old (you can't have more than a couple of years on me, IIRC), but a bit of regular physical activity does sound as though it'd be useful for not making you feel unnecessarily old. :) I find that strength works differently now from how it did when I was twenty--occasionally better, believe it or not.

Huh, that's interesting about strength. It might be the old saw, "It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it." I know I'm a lot more careful about body mechanics now, which probably gives me better leverage.

But, yeah, I'm too young to be feeling this old. Exercise should help. I hope. If I can get it into a habit, and not just a once in a while thing.

Definitely mechanics and leverage, I think, and knowing one's limits better. darkforge ought to be stronger than I because of that Y chromosome and stuff--he's two inches taller and about 20 pounds heavier--but I've had more experience with bracing and counterbalancing, so I can do more than he can even when I'm watching out for my treacherous spine. It's weird.

Even walking outside can help, if you can spare the time. (Not sure what the tradeoffs are between the possibility of random scent encounters while walking and the closed-in environment of a gym.) Pretty much all my exercise is walking, has to be.

I'm very glad the show is going well, and is good for you. I feel confident that if you think the show is going well, then it is in reality a fantastic show. I wonder if I can manage a trip up to see it... Hmmmm...

I may only think the show is going well because I spend a good chunk of the first act in Wolfy's arms. :-) But seeing us together on stage at last might be worth a trip, even if the rest of the show is pants. :-)
