I like that there's no Thefacebook group at UNT for TAMS students, but there is one called "Students Against TAMS Students". It seems like someone named John Ashcroft is already ridiculing them, though.

I don't know if you're familiar with Thefacebook.com. It's a place where each university has a website, and its students join and create profiles. They can connect to their friends' profiles as well. Lately it's become a huge fascination across the country, with people "facebooking" people they just met on campus in order to find out about them.
You can also create online groups that people can join. At UNT, nobody from TAMS has made a TAMS group, but some normal UNT student has made a group named Students Against TAMS Students, which already has a few members. However, another student (calling himself "John Ashcroft") has been making fun of this group's attitude toward TAMSters, who are probably much better students than the group members are. Hope that cleared things up.
That's really sad. Are TAMSters really so bad as all that? I don't know what we've done recently to provoke any kind of response, really. We're too "docile" for our own good. ah well. Now, to remove the sarcasm, I honestly have to ask are there really that many students who dislike TAMSters? I heard rumors of them, but always managed to avoid them while I was there...
today dr. gau the english prof basically told us we were horrible for 'cheating' and said she'd never let her kid come here blah blah and that we were all immature, but that she would try not to generalize. It's teachers like her that have no respect or perspective on the TAMS program that give us a bad rep to the UNT kids..
Gau is just a bitch. Her tests are fill in but her TA's have "set" answers and if you put something they didn't think of they count it wrong when it is right. I talked to her in her office about this politely, and she said it didn't matter because the bonus covered it. When I tried to explain to her that a bonus does not cover it because everyone else had the same bonus and my test still has a lower score since correct answers were counted wrong, she exploded on me. She shouted on about how she hates TAMSters because they come in "demanding" A's all the time and will do anything to get them. She refused to change my grade and said that I was saying her TA's were incompetent and prejudice.
Yeah, I had Gau last year, and she was horribly biased against TAMSters. But classes consisted more or less of just the two of us discussing the books, so she had a lot of respect for me by the end of the semester, and I talked to her in private about her bias against TAMSters.
It's nice to know that that made zero impact on her. *sighs*
i remember when those two dumb fucks got arrested for stealing a billion dollars in computer equipment. perhaps memory exaggerates the exact figure, but the point is, i come to class late the next day (class being 12 people, 11 of whom are not tamsters) and dr. clark says "oh, good, we were worried you were one of the ones arrested." he was joking, of course, but it is great that we do so well to represent ourselves - we aren't allowed to socialize very well with college students, we are portrayed as unwelcome by nearly everyone (tams admin included), and we are constantly expected to meet very high standards, and yet getting good grades (which we do not all do) is the very reason people are supposed to dislike us.
