Greeting and resolutions

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had an excellent Christmas/festive season. I did and feel wonderfully recharged. I think it was because the snow meant that everything slowed down and we concentrated on the bare essence for once, rather than all the glitz and glamour ( Read more... )

I'm glad you had a good Christmas :-)

I was happy to find your message in my inbox and am looking forward to seeing your new work.

You're ditching Gwen? No arguements from me on that score. If you don't want to write her as she is in the show, and you can't make her more likeable in AU then it's the way to go for you. I will read whatever you write. Tbh, I would read it if you wrote Ianto reading out the phone book ;-)

Can I ask if you still plan to do a sequel to Reclaiming Camelot?

The problem was that I would get so hung up over her that very often an entire story would stall. Plus, as I said, making her say and do the stupid things was just too easy.

Yep, I'm redoing the sequel to Reclaiming Camelot. I'd originally pretty much written it but I lost it when my main computer went into meltdown. I kept hoping I'd get it back but it didn't happen so now I'm doing it again from memory. (Torchwood Grail in the AU where Reclaiming Camelot happened. It's down for April, at the moment.)

Can you hear that resounding cheer? That would be me. :) I'm still trying to make my way through all these wonderful 'verses so when you get to posting more I may actually be ready for more.

I've asked this before but you still planning on a sequel to Reclaiming Camelot?

Yes, there will be a sequel to Reclaiming Camelot. It's called Dragons, Weevils and Gerbils, Oh My! and picks up where Reclaiming Camelot left off. This one will be a mixture of humour, action and Jack scaring the life out of Ianto by insisting on being domesticated. Oh, yes, and there's an alien gerbil trying to take over the world. As they do.

I think I need to do the same with the way I get work done. I also get distracted easily and it's had a bad effect on my school grades. Currently having to deal with the outcome from that trainwreck...

I know Gwen is part of the original series team, but there have always been things about her character that I didn't like. She's selfish, unthinking, and a bit of a whore if you consider her willingness to cheat on Rhys. I'm not really sure I can say that I would miss her.

Yay on the schedule. Was going to make birthday request that you put "Complication" near the top of the list, but I see it's already there. :D

It drives you mad, doesn't it? You know what you have to do, you know what you want to do and yet somehow entire months go by and you haven't done them. Mind you, school grades are a lot more important than fan stories so I shall send positive vibes in your direction.

I so thoroughly disliked Gwen as a character that I just couldn't cope with her. Plus she's going to be in the upcoming abomination and I don't want anyone to even think that I'm going to be touching that with a barge pole!

I've been meaning to do Complication for the longest time so it deserves to be top of the to-do list.

I forgot to wish you a happy new year too. My brain has been a bit scattered on things recently. I only remembered two days ago that my birthday is next week. *headdesk ( ... )

I'm so glad you are continuing to write in the Torchwood fandom! We've lost so many good authors over the ridiculous way RTD treated the show and it makes me happy that you aren't one of the ones we're losing.
While there are a few (very few) things that appreciate about Gwen as a character, I gotta be honest and say I definitely won't miss her when you write her out.
Add me to the list of people wondering about a sequal to Reclaiming Camelot! That is one of the stories that I continuously go back and reread in this fandom and would love to see more from it!
Happy New Year!!

It was difficult to recover from the firestorm that CoE was. Just about everything that made Torchwood unique and wonderful was destroyed. Location, characters, background... It's difficult to remember just why you care about the series when it's obvious that the creator doesn't. Or rather that the creator saw a completely different thing that you did. What I needed to do was realise that I don't particularly care if my vision of the series is different to his.

I will definitely be writing the sequel to Reclaiming Camelot. I have around twenty pages written and some additional notes so I'm pretty positive about that one.

I've always kind of looked at fanfiction as a way for fans to express their own vision of the show so adhering strictly to canon never really bothered me.

Oh yay!!! I'm so glad to hear that you've already started working on the sequel. Jack, Ianto, Tosh & Andy, evil Owen and no Gwen! *grins*
