Ok so my lungs bleed no longer. However I am still incredibly short of breath and very congested. Does anyone know any home remedies for bronchitis?

When I say home I mean cheap and not requiring medical assistance.

I hate Pennsylvania. At least I can get insurance for Lisa. I get a two year waiting list.

I doubt you have a nebulizer, so you should be taking a lot of showers and breathing the steam. Just make sure your bathroom isn't moldy because then you run the risk of developing a mold allergy, which makes you stop breathing.

I find drinking chamomile and having chicken soup helps a lot too. Coffee, also, supposedly helps with asthma attacks so it might help with bronchitis.

Keep yourself hyrdrated as usual.

Try to breathe through your nose, slowly, instead of taking sharp breaths which could lock up your lungs.

If you have any asthmatic friends nearby, try to see if they can get Advair for you. I know that's prescribed pretty often for bronchitis.

Well by golly it worked. The coffee thing really did make a difference for my health and sanity. I always heard you should stay away from caffeine when you were sick. So that advice alone just may have saved my life.

ευχαριστώ!

Water vapor like pana suggested. Robotussin or an equivalent product containing dextromethorphan and gaufenisin to help reduce coughing while clearing all the shit out of your lungs. Hot beverages (black tea with honey and lemon, and possibly either brandy or wiskey added is an old folk remedy).
finally if things dont improve, go to an ER and get seen, they can bill you, but nothing else. And medical debt has little effect on your credit rating. So all that costs is the script they would give you, but if in about a week you are no better, or if you get worse at all, go to the hospital. You may be able to get charity care from them. It's not insurance, but it does help in the mean time.
Feel better

I wasn't sure if it was ok to take a cough supressant with bronchitis. At least I could get some sleep.

That's good to know about the ER thing.

Thanx Bilner.
