when watching the news reports on the situation in lebanon one gets the feeling that after a while they could cut back on the repetiton and just cover the important details of whats changed. Likewise with the deaths of soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq they need to change the way they report it as it tends to become familiar and lose significance and just become a background noise of little importance which they are not. Perhaps it makes them feel that they are making a difference in a situation where they can do nothing on say channel 4 and bbc 1, I find channel 5 a bit too slick and commercial but its linked to sky news.
Just ordered the book Black Hawk Down to glorify in the details of battle or rather not. Its a film thats been described as Gung Ho by some simplistic people but its scary and feels to me like an anti recruitment film unless you're incredibly stupid
