Merlin: 5:08 The Hollow Queen

Right. That was 5.08.  I wont get those 45 minutes back.

Much as I thought I could stick it out to the end, I’m seriously starting to wonder if I underestimated the ability of the producers of this show to annihilate every thing that was good about it before the finale. Are they actually trying to drive their audience to the point where Camlann ( Read more... )

I keep wondering what this show would have been like if Joss Whedon had been in charge from the beginning...

This episode made me sick to my stomach, and I'm not talking figuratively, because after I finished watching and actually started thinking back about it I felt much like I do after a panic attack ( ... )

Oh my... I feel your pain. I truly do. That scene with Gwen ordering Merlin? I wanted to kill her. And those F*cking writers that wrote it. Still do. And I just realized that you are right and that Merlin was left dying alone in the woods for like a day or more without anyone coming for him ( ... )

And where before I'd wish for Merlin to go away just to have Arthur realizing what he's lost and go get it back, now I don't. I actually want him to die now. I want him to realize what a stupid fuck he was, while he's watching everything fall apart around him. Without GWEN you lose everything? Think again.

THIS.

Of all the fucking disrespectful things for them to do, I never thought they'd actually have Gwen demanding things from Merlin, evil or not, I don't give a fuck. And Arthur acting like it's Merlin's obligation, like it doesn't mean a thing, yes, serve me and my wife dinner while we politely mock your ridiculous life, Merlin. Oh well, yes, we'll just start kissing and acting like fucking teenagers in front of you, because it's not like you're really here in the room, right? Servants = Invisible.

I was so afraid of this when the writers elevated Gwen to queen and left Merlin as a servant. And honestly, I don't know how anyone can think of Gwen as kind, caring and humble when she pulls that kind of crap.

I agree with everything you said. I'm so sad and disappointed about what they did with Arthur, Merlin, the show in general that I can't even put it into words anymore.

At this point I'm really hoping this'll be the last season, just so it's finally over, because apparently I'm unable to quit on my own. Hope really is a bitch!

This season left me baffled. What are they thinking? Really, what?

I wish I knew. I think the whole fandom wishes it knew. It is the last season and they're rushing to Camlann after 3 years on the throne. Hes done significantly less than Uther who actually won Camelot. So why would anyone remember this king who couldn't hold the throne for more than a few years and did nothing of memorable interest. How can he possibly be the Once and Future king? Come back to save the world? Hes so diminished he cant even comb his own hair. :(

Understandable to feel so angry. But I'd say you worded everything brilliantly.
You are not alone, as you can see.

BTW, 10 minutes until we finally get the confirmation that this failboat is getting the axe.

Are you kidding with that last paragraph?!! You are spot on. We are all angry and rightfully so. You may have said the words with a more passionate note, but you've said the exact thing we've all been saying. The "big announcement" is due right now, as it's midnight GMT, so we will have more ranting soon, regardless of what the annoucement is. I think everything you said was EXCELLENT!!
