Data and musings on Halloween costumes for girls

I was in a coffee shop downtown trying to get some writing done as the vendors started setting up for the big weekly farmers market on the street outside.  In honor of Halloween some downtown businesses, including the coffee shop I was writing in, were giving out candy to trick-or-treating children on farmers market night, so once that started ( Read more... )

I knew little girls (and boys too) loved singing "Let It Go," but it's interesting to see that it seems to be not just the song.

In fairness, you also want to consider parental bias and peer pressure. My parents, despite my crying, insisted that little girls love princesses

I wasn't trying to accuse the little girls of being the problem. Sorry if that wasn't clear from my entry; I was writing pretty late at night and may not have expressed myself clearly. The problem is the princess culture industry, often reinforced by parents, that tells girls that this is what they should like until many of them believe it and many of the rest go along to be like their friends.

Captain America in a tutu! That's adorable. I now want to add a tutu or possibly a tiara to my Captain America costume.

Surprised there were so few animals! I was almost always an animal for Halloween as a kid. But then I've always loved them.

Ohmygod captain america in a tutu CUTENESS ♥

I like that disney is slowly moving towards princesses with more interesting stories than just finding a prince and living happily ever after. Hopefully that will continue on and hells yes to all of the captain marvels :)
