is this for a school project? You should try asking this in liberal & conservatism

Nah. It's a topic in my government class, and since a lot of students do not like to volunteer their opinions I sort of wanted opinions from people who would give a detailed reason as to why they are for/against it...

Thank you, I may have to do that still.

I am for it.
I think that if someone killed someone...that is the way they should die.
Lets say a person brutually tortured someone before they killed them; I believe that is the way they should die.

Yeah, a lot of people think the same thing should happen to the person who first committed the crime, but then others think why do that because it makes nothing better? I don't know.

I still think they should feel the pain they caused.

Yeah, in a sense you are right. The bible says something among the lines of 'an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth' or something of that sort, and it also says to forgive and forget, AND to just turn the other cheek. Right? But it's hard to just do that, because [yes Im going to use the same examples as the others] what if you came home and you found your mom&dad shot or stabbed and they were dead? How would you feel then? Would your opinion change at all?

On one hand I think.. if you murdered someone [especially in the cases of serial killers], then you deserve to die for that. On the other hand, if you killed someone, you made them suffer and you made all their friends and family suffer as well.. it makes me feel as though the lethal injection is too good for these people. They get off easy. And on a totally different hand, I don't feel that it's my place to judge, these people will be judged by God when their time comes. In killing them, are we any better than they are?

My teacher actually had us raise our hands when he asked if we were for/against it, and then for the undecided he gave examples, like if it were your parents you found stabbed/shot when you came home from somewhere one night, then you wouldbe for it right? Well...he then basically had to put those people in the 'for' category. It's hard as I keep saying.
