I don't know why they brought in so many different villains this season. It's all been very confusing to me, and I don't think they've done any of them justice. Darkseid is one of the DC villains whom I find truly chilling, and on the show we don't even have a clear idea of who or what he is. And now I'm wondering if he was a backup plan all along, one they no longer need.

Because honestly, will all these extra villains, it truly feels like the PTB have absolutely no clue what they're doing IMO.

I agree. It's made the whole season seem disjointed to me, and given the spoilers we've seen, I don't expect that to get any better in the weeks ahead.

I subscribe to your EVERY WORD! Beginning to end, your thoughts reflect my sentiments exactly. And judging by the overwhelming responses above, it is a shared sentiment.

I will miss Tom terribly, he will always be the one and only Clark Kent/Superman for me!

I'm hoping to see him in films with good scripts!!

The thing that kills me is that I know how good Smallville can be. And when they get it right, it's glorious!

Tom is the one who pulled me into the show, right from his first scene in the pilot. I want to see him spread his acting wings after Smallville, and show the world the true range of his talent. And the shallow fangirl in me just wants to sit in the dark while his gorgeous image towers over me on the big screen. :)

Can you even imagine how amazing Tom could be with the right material and a good director? Or maybe he'll produce a project he can both star in and direct. I'm so excited to see what lies ahead for him. I just hope he continues to act, as well as direct and produce.

Great discussion. I've tried desperately to hold onto the love, but I'm afraid it's deserting me. Help!

I was just reading your post about Beacon. When you compared yourself to Greenlady, I thought, wow, she's serious about not liking Clark. The show has let a lot of people down, and I don't know if it's possible to come back from that. I know Chloe fans who say that for them, Smallville ended at the end of S5. A lot of Lex fans say the same thing about S7, while others washed their hands of the show as early as S3. I still watch because I still find a lot to love, in spite of my frustrations. I'm sorry Smallville has so little to offer you these days. In a few months it will be over, and then we'll all have to figure out how to move on. :(

Are you still enjoying Supernatural? There's no official word yet, but most people think we'll see a seventh season. I hope so.

I haven't been around much in forever. RL and my mixed-up feelings about the show have been conspiring to keep me offline most of the time, and in lurker mode even when I was here. I'm just now finding my way back to LJ.

Same here. It's been a long dry spell, and I do miss it. It's been an important place and means of connection for me for a long time.

That's the thing. I don't want to lose that sense of community when Smallville is over, but I've already seen friends slip away once they stop watching the show. When that finale airs, it'll be the end of an era!

I'm sorry I'm so late to the party and haven't been here in so long, but I couldn't NOT comment on this wonderful post. You have so much class in the way you present your feelings and opinions on Smallville and express yourself so eloquently, that it's a true pleasure to read. I'm so glad I didn't miss this ( ... )
